Take 2

Let's try this again. Apparently, according to Doug at least, updating my blog picture is not sufficient enough to qualify for a real blog update. So, now that the house is quiet-ish (I only have Evelynn pestering me about when my turn on the computer is going to be done, since we all know that between the hours of 7am and 7pm the computer belongs to our children) and Eloise is asleep, I guess I'll give you an update. Let's review. Michael was in the hospital for RSV for 4 days in February, which coincided with my anniversary and Doug's birthday quiet nicely. Then he got better and came home, and I am grateful everyday since I saw the resulting bill that we have the insurance we do. He has had 3 subsequent ear infections since then and now has an appointment to have a consultation with the ear specialist which will most likely result in him getting tubes put in this year. Hopefully once this is done I'll be able to get back to getting a full night's sleep, because what with ear infections, antibiotics, and just the regular sickness that pervades a household of three children, night time sleeping stretches have been a bit thin. Speaking of thin, Michael still is. Not like deathly thin, but what with all the problems mentioned above, his eating has been below par. Now that we are having a spell with no antibiotics thanks to a friend who has introduced me to the world of essential oils (3 days for getting rid of an ear infection? YES PLEASE!) we are back on track to Michael eating his weight in food every day. Hopefully this will alleviate my doctor's fears that he doesn't eat enough and he will be the fatty that I know is inside him somewhere. Eloise has also had a rough spell. She's had a few ear infections and also came down with pneumonia this last week. It was weird. Apparently she's had walking pneumonia for a while now because I had NO IDEA anything was wrong until about 1:00 pm on Wednesday, and when she went into the doctor at 4:30, she had pneumonia. Go figure. Luckily, she's responding just great to antibiotics and is almost back to her happy self. Evelynn is the only one who hasn't been sick, to my knowledge. It is really hard to tell with her, believe it or not, unless she is really sick.

In other more positive news, Michael started crawling... or something like it, this week. He's now scooting around the floor in search of all the goodies his sisters leave behind. It's always fun to see your baby progress and learn new things, but there are now some toys that will be "magically" disappearing soon, such as barbie shoes. Too many choking hazards! Also something really cool that happened this week--Evelynn has learned to ride her bike without training wheels! It took her like 3 whole times of Daddy running behind her bike to get it down. She is still working on turning her bike with the handle bars instead of leaning into the turns with her whole body like she did with her training wheels. Once she learns that, she'll be able to turn corners without falling over, and it will be a much happier world all around. I also was FINALLY able to cut Eloise's bangs into a normal shape after 9 months of letting them grow out after her sister took scissors to her. That was such a happy day for me. :) Doug and I also got to get away for 24 whole hours while Doug's parents were in town in March, which was very much appreciated after the drama and stress of February. Doug's cousin is getting married on Saturday and I am doing her wedding flowers, which is really fun for me. Doug's parent's will also be down this weekend, and we're all excited to see them again. Then the next weekend my parents will be here for my brother's graduation, and Lori is also coming to visit from DC! Apparently she believes she's going to live there for the next forever while because she got some sort of job to fill the time after her internship. Doug is busy sending her job ideas in Provo for her to apply to because we all know that this is where she belongs (aka is desperately wanted by me) even if she doesn't know it yet. :)

Well, there is the brief summary of my life in the last 3 months. I must now surrender the computer or die. Hopefully I'll be back soon.
