Randoms from this winter

This winter has been long. I know all winter's seem long to all of us, but they seem to get exponentially longer when you have children cooped up in your house for the duration of it. It is also heart breaking to listen to your 4 year old beg to go outside everyday and you have say no due to snow or freezing temperatures. So here are a few of our outdoor adventures this year, and also a few indoor activities that the girls have taken to this winter.

Playing dress-ups with friends. This is Sarah and Rachel on on of their many adventures to our house (and here's a huge THANK YOU to Elisa for taking them on adventures to her house as well!!).

We all fall down! Though I think it's hard to even get hurt in a pile up with all that fluff to buffer them.

Bath time! In the middle of the day! This has saved my bacon more than one time, and if bubbles are involved, it's even better. Tea parties in the bath tub are much more preferable to tea parties on the living room rug.

Veteran's Memorial Park is right around the corner from us, and so we frequent the walking paths and parks there, and usually end up stopping by the big gun to climb around.

This winter there was a huge windstorm one night, and two pine trees fell over in the park.

My girls have both learned not only to read, but enjoy the subtle humor of Calvin and Hobbes and Baby Blues. Yes, I know they are really young, but we have to start them off early in this competitive world. We're reading Moby Dick as a family as well, but the girls are struggling a little bit with some of the old world wordings.

Paints! And anything art project-ish. For Christmas they both got copious art supplies, and they have been so wonderful. No Van Gogh's yet, but it's early in their art career's yet.

Tuesday Connfessional

This is an idea I saw Sam A. doing on her blog, and although I probably won't be doing this every Tuesday, I did want to take advantage of this specific Tuesday and confess something special.

I'M PREGNANT!

Almost 9 weeks along, due September 17th! :)

Hopefully to all you who come to aerobics with me and/or are around when I teach, this will explain the reason why I look/feel like I'm about to pass out and why I may not be my normal perky self. :) I am sick, but not as sick as the past two pregnancies (I'm hoping that means it's a boy!) but other than that I feel great. Stick around for more updates as they come.

Birthday's!

Evelynn's birthday was on Jan. 31 and she turned 4 years old, while Eloise's birthday was on Feb 1st and she turned 2 (yes, it was planned that way, thanks to early inducement. :) ). It was quite a string of birthday activities. First Grandma Sue got to use her Christmas present to fly out to visit us for 5 days (which was amazing, thanks Grandma!!!). We went swimming on Saturday at the Lehi Rec center which had an amazing indoor pool/water park for only $5 for adults, $3 for kids over four, and under four is free. Following this we ate at McDonald's with a play place, and then headed home with two very very tired girls. The next day was Sunday and was officially Evelynn's birthday. We made 3 boxes of cake mix into cup cakes for the family dinner that night (and returned home with half of them!) and went to church. Evelynn got sung to in Primary, and since I'm the primary chorister, I had everyone sing to her. She stood there totally stone faced for the whole thing, it was so funny. I guess that could be intimidating to a little Sunbeam. After church we opened presets, after waiting much much too long for a certain little 4 year old. In case you're confused by the pictures, my parent's were watching on Skype on the computer, hence the girls positions. The gifts were all a big hit, but it warmed mine and Doug's heart to see our gift to Eloise go over so well. We got her her own grown up baby doll, and she wouldn't let go of it the entire night, even while eating dinner. It was and still is a big success. We tried to sing to the girls at the family dinner, but this intimidated my kids so much that they wouldn't blow out their candles, so we sang again on Monday night for Eloise's birthday and got that on film since I didn't bring my camera on Sunday night.
