Halloween Fun!

sWe went trick-or-treating for the first time as a family this year. Doug pointed out that this kind of thing means we're becoming parents with "older" children. So weird! It's hard to remember sometimes that Evelynn is still only 2 and won't be 3 for three more months! She just looked so grown up in her dress and pig tails. ~sigh~ Anyway, we went down to Center Street and University Ave in Provo to do our candy gathering. Most of the shops there gave out candy and dressed up and some even gave out coupons. It was really nice. I wouldn't have gone out otherwise. Evelynn was a little bit unsure to begin with, especially when older kids with scary costumes would walk by. But it only took two stores before she caught on that this was the coolest thing she had ever done. "All I do is walk up to strange people in weird clothes and they give me candy!" Hmm.... maybe Halloween isn't teaching our kids the greatest things.....

Evelynn was a princess for Halloween. Thanks Grandma Sue for finding the costume for her! She LOVED it!

Eloise was a tiger, and I must say she was the cutest tiger I have ever seen. Thanks Grandma Kartchner for this one!

All ready to go get CANDY!

Halloween outfit from Grandma Kartchner. I'm sorry to say that the shirt was not a huge hit after the first 5 minutes, but the skirt continues to be a favorite. She loves to wear it especially with her pretty pink shirts....
Off we go! I know, I know, we're kind of lame because Doug and I had no costumes. But at least our kids are cute.
This is the neighbor family (aka the Phipps) who we went with. Can you tell they are hard core BYU fans?
This is right after the first building we stopped at. Evelynn was thrilled to get candy and had to eat it right away. I actually was amazed we made it home with any candy left!

And of course, this is how Eloise spent Halloween--very content in her stroller... maybe a little bored. :)

  1. I keep thinking the same thing about Lily...she is growing up so fast. I love their costumes. I thought Lily would want to be a princess, but she chose Elmo. At least Evelynn has enough hair to put into pigtails now. :)

  2. Hey Geneen, just so you know--pink and orange look GREAT together. Josie has had a pink & orange thing happening since she watched the Bollywood movie Kuch naa kaho: Aishwarya's apartment in the movie is absolutely gorgeous in pink and orange. So, Evelynn has terrific taste in colors!
