From the slacker to you

I know, I know, it's been too long. Anyway, enough apology and onto the good stuff.

Somethings that have been happening for the last month and a half are as follows. I'm sorry there is little commentary, but since I happen to know that the bulk of my active readers enjoy pictures more than commentary (aka grandparents and great grandparents), you'll get more prose later.

Eloise being too cool for breakfast. :) Well, that's not true since this child wakes up, says "Hi Mommy. I need to eat!"every morning. She just did it with more style this particular morning.

I made bread in our bread machine the other day, and as you know the top of the bread is always the best. I had taken the top off to eat it and then left the bread to go do something else. When I returned, I found that little hands had successfully scooped out the rest of the good portion of the bread for themselves.

Doug's cousin got married in April and Doug's parents came down for the event. We snapped a few pictures. Evelynn was terribly excited that she got to wait INSIDE the temple and was thrilled to see all the people getting married. She now asks whenever she sees a picture of a girl in a formal dress when they're supposed to get married.

Killing time with uncle BJ until the bride and groom appear.

Killing time playing peekaboo with daddy.

Doug's cousins babysat for us while we went to the sealing, and Evelynn fell in love with them. She thought all the girls were splendid, and I'm sure the feeling was mutual.

Now the girls were killing time (sensing a theme here?) until Grandma and Grandpa Jacobson arrived to unlock their house so we could take naps, which didn't happen after all. But at least they got their first taste of motorcycling on Grandpa's bike.

I found this one day after lunch... you would think by the many disasters that I report that I frequently leave my kids unattended for long stretches of time. Not that I'm admitting to anything, but this time I promise I was only out of the room for the amount time it takes to make sure Evelynn washes her hands in the bathroom. There had been half a bottle of applesauce left in that container. She did manage to eat most of it by herself.

Eloise was sick with some bug that had her puking for 3 days and a high fever for 5 days, and this picture was taken on day 4 of 5. Any medicine we tried to give her for the fever would make her throw up again, so she just had to suffer. She was pitiful.

This was her expression for most of the time she was sick.

My girls love the bath and love to stay and play in the bath for extended periods of time, but I rarely plan enough time for this to happen in the evenings. (Please read this as it's dinner time, clean up time, bath time, and bed time right now BEFORE MOM LOSES IT SO NO MORE BATH TIME!) On this occasion Doug gave the girls a bath while I was gone, and so he didn't care how long they were in there and snapped some pictures. Eloise lay down in the tub with the water around her ears unconcerned and smiling adorably, as you can see.

Evelynn on the other hand has a problem laying/floating on her back. She hates it. She can swim like a fish but will not float on her back. She can, but she won't. I guess that carries over into the bath tub too. Either way, they were sure cute.

Some of you Utahan's may recognize this scene since it was taken today about 9:30am.
I think it's rather pretty, and considering I had just left Kansas which was 87 and humid, this isn't too unwelcome for me. Especially since the rest of the week is supposed to be 70+ and sunny. Sorry to all the rest of you who swore you'd move to Cuba if it snowed one more time in Utah this spring. I'll miss you.

  1. Weston hates laying on his back in the tub too. And I was pretty depressed to see the snow this morning, but at least it won't be sticking around. It's mostly just a bummer because Weston's preschool class party was supposed to be a water party outside. Oh well. Looks like you guys have been up to some fun adventures lately. Hope all is well with the fetus too. :)
