Evelynn only gets a pacifier when she goes to sleep. This hasn't proved to be much of a problem, although she will occasionally wake up in the middle of the night, realizing that she has lost her pacifier, when that happens she will usually cry out for her pacifier saying, "where's my pacifier." This will go on and will increase in volume until either Geneen or myself gets up and finds her pacifier. (It's typically on the floor underneath her pillow).
Now, the way that Evelynn pronounces the word pacifier is fun in and of itself. Now I can't really spell things phonetically very well but I will do my best to convay to you the way she says the word. Instead of saying pacifier with a short "i" sound she will often say pac-uh-fier, really emphasizing the fire end.
One early, early morning I suddenly awoke to something like this at the edge of my bed.
Needless to say I got out of bed and helped her find her pacifier.
